Bio
Dan Becraft, a true Seattle Native.
I am an honest, kind and thoughtful person with integrity who is an awesome dad to my two children, Jacob and Samantha. Though I am an accomplished executive at Morgan Stanley, it is with my children that I chose to define my success in life. I want my children to grow to be benevolent and considerate adults. I am a gentleman from the "Old School" who enjoys cooking from scratch with organic ingredients, holding the doors for women and making the world’s best Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Pistachio and Almond Cookies!
But most of all, if my children feel I am Mr. Awesome…I’ve already won.
Future Career Aspirations: What is your dream job and why?
I actually planned to attain the job I currently hold at Morgan Stanley when I was in the 6th grade. My friends tease me because they never thought at age 12 I could actually set a goal that young and stay with it. I did it and it’s everything I expected it to be and more. I love my career because I get to work in a field I love and with people I get to choose to work with.
Most Awesome Thing(s) I have done/doing:
1. Raising two wonderful children in Seattle.
2. Racing in the World Championships of Cyclo-cross (2008 & 2010) for USA Cycling and Listing Seattle as my hometown.
3. Being the first in my family to graduate from the University of Washington Business School.
Which is more important to you: Money, fame or respect? Explain.
I would say Respect is the most important to me. You can have money, you can have fame but if no one respects you what’s the point? You see in the news everyday someone with money or fame looking like a complete fool who no one respects.
Hobbies/Sports/Extracurricular Activities:
Bike Racing, Cooking, Baking, Song Writing, Singing and playing with my kids (oh and kite flying at Gas Works Park with my kids).
Most Embarrassing moment:
Was when I was 10 years old, I loved Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes SO much that I wrote Kellogg’s a letter telling them how much I loved their cereal and that I would be the best Child TV Spokesman ever. About two months later I did receive a nice letter back from them essentially saying “NO”. I was SO sure that my love for that cereal was a sure bet for a TV spot that I told all my friends to expect to see me every time they watched Saturday morning cartoons!
Why I should be chosen Mr. Awesome Seattle:
1. I live, work and I am raising my children in Seattle.
2. I participate in the Seattle community in the following institutions; the Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Children's Hospital, Laurelhurst Community Club, Cascade Bicycle Club, the Port of Seattle Commission, Taught Financial Planning to the Doctors and Dentists at the University of Washington Medical School and Dental School, Participated in local Seattle School Board issues, Participated in local decisions on the expansion of Boeing Field, worked with the Seattle City Council, Worked on the Governor’s Election team and have worked with some of our US Congressmen on local Seattle issues.
3. If I win Mr. Awesome, I will commit to maintaining the ethical standards of Mr. Awesome in the community and participate in Mr. Awesome events. I will continue to participate in Seattle School District issues and my community issues in ways to keep Seattle the great city I live, work and play in.

Tell us about you. Hobbies/sports/awesome stuff!
Hey I'm Daniel Dellinger! I'm a great fun loving guy, I love doing anything outside. I play any sport I can when I get the chance, but football is by far my favorite sport. My hobbies include paintball, miniature gaming, and video games. I'm super excited about this summer cause I'm from Arizona and water there is quite scarce so i'm going to be floating a river or swimming in a lake every chance I get! The most awesome thing I've ever done is actually kind of a tie. I love rappelling, and every single time I go its just a complete adreneline rush. However, the If i had to choose one thing, it would be when I got a chance to drive a friends Lamborghini Murcielago. The speed, the g-forces was simply incredible and thats something I know not everyone will get a chance to do. So I would make a great Mr. Awesome of Seattle is because I'm not afraid of being myself. I have a great sense of humor, I become friends with almost everyone I meet, but I' m not going to change who I am to meet someone elses expectations. Thak you for taking time to consider my entry!

Candidate #10

Bio
I am a slightly unusual person with a wide range of hobbies and interests. As a unabashed nerd, I love photography, working on computers/cars, and reading everything from comic books/manga to the Harvard Business Review. In high school I took advantage of my height (6'2") and ran track, and in college I again took advantage of my height and rowed on the crew team, participating in races all around the Pacific Northwest.
I'm also a big time marksmanship enthusiast! In my current standings, I am a classified IDPA pistol shooter, unclassified USPSA shooter, and I also participate in the monthly US Tactical Rifle matches in Custer, WA. At my day job, I market, advertise and sell weapons and accessories to law enforcement, private military contractors, executive protection teams, as well as folks who find themselves at West Coast Amory. I started and sold my own weapons accessory company, "Weapon Outfitters" to the West Coast Armory, and have stayed on board to helm the new entity.
Though I'm pretty handy with nunchucks, punches, parries, pistols, rifles, and shotguns, i've never been in a fist fight as I'm a lover not a fighter! I really enjoy the Seattle and arts scene and have worked with Seattle based photographers on projects for my business. Having spent half my childhood overseas, i'm very open minded to all opinions and lifestyles, though I may be strongly vested in my own. I'm just as comfortable on the shooting range as the only civilian in a squad filled with SWAT cops, as I am as the only straight guy at a musical or Lady Gaga concert.
Like excellence, awesomeness is not an act, but a habbit!

Tell us about you. Hobbies/sports/awesome stuff!
I am a passionate person who enjoys living life to the fullest!
I used to be a professional basketball player in England until the failure of both of my kidneys put me into hospital.
With one kidney literally exploding and the other one failing fast I learned just how precious and fragile life is.
That created a fire inside of me as I dedicated my life to natural medicine, and the zen philosophies behind the martial arts I'd studied for years.
Today I travel the country and Europe teaching my principles on how to "Eat, Move, Live... It's that simple".
I believe in leading by example and empowering others with the message that "If I can do it, you can do it too" and so this year I will be competing in a muscle/fitness model competition despite the fact that many people say it can't be done with a "kidney issue".
I aim to lead, teach and inspire other men on how to treat women and children with more dignity, respect and love than currently happens in so many parts of the world.
That has driven me to put together a team and lead a climb up Mt Kilimanjaro in 2012/2013 for Care International - the largest charity to help female rights "defending dignity, fighting poverty" & Stop the Traffik - a charity working to abolish Human Trafficking across the globe.
Our goal is to document it on film to spread the word about these horrific everyday tragedies that too many are oblivious to!
My positive, upbeat attitude and belief that everyone has greatness... "awesomeness" inside of them
is why I would make a great Mr Awesome Seattle!

Future Career Aspirations: What is your dream job and why?
My Dream Job is to be a lawyer in criminal law. I have always wanted to fight crime however, I feel that in the courts is where a greater impact can be done. Using laws to deter and punish. However I also understand that some victimless crimes have penalties that may be far too harsh, crowd our jails and waste the taxpayers' money. I hope to be able to address and alleviate this in my career as a lawyer.
Hobbies/Sports/Extracurricular Activities:
I am a highly active individual who thrives on competition and sports. I love football, baseball and basketball. I love to sing and dance with a great passion. I love traveling and learning new languages.
Describe the most awesome thing you have ever done:
The most awesome thing I have done is to be able to coach a large group of young girls and boys track and field. My contribution to them isn't just teaching them how to hurdle or jump far, but it is the ability to become a mentor for them. My most important lesson to these children is that no matter what it is that they do, they should do it at there utmost effort. If they do this, no matter how big or small, rich or poor, or how smart they are, anything is possible. My coaches taught me the same principle, and I feel like whatever I try to accomplish is always successful. It has been a great pleasure for me to spread the word to the younger generation.
Which is more important to you: Money, fame or respect? Explain.
Respect is the most important because that is something that requires understanding of another human being. Money and fame are both surface layers of human society, but when you dig deep there is a soul with a heart, a goal and a mind so powerful that being able to understand them gives the utmost respect that any peer could ever ask for.
What is one of your most embarrassing moments?
One time in class, I fell asleep and I passed gas!! It was the most embarrassing feeling I have ever felt and I had to endure it for the remainder of the whole quarter.
Give us three reasons why you should be Mr. Awesome of Seattle:
1. I have a kind heart willing to lend a hand or an ear to my neighbor in need of help
2. I try my best at everything I do which has helped me excel in many ways, athletically, artistically and scholastically
3. I am a hometown boy, who roots for anything and all Seattle!!!

Tell us about you. Hobbies/sports/awesome stuff!
My nickname is the Atomic Dog. I got it because I wear a lot of purple (Go Dawgs!) and I hit a lot of home runs in softball. I can switch hit and once hit a home run from both sides of the plate in the same game. I'm ambidextrous because I was dancing with an ex-girlfriend. She slipped, I caught her and kept her from hitting her head on a table. In the process, I broke a wine glass and the stem went through my wrist. I couldn't use my right hand for a month while the tendons healed. Another embarrassing injury happened while rock climbing with a girl I met in Cabo. She told me she was a stripper and lost my grip. I fell and broke my left ring finger when I landed. My favorite jobs have been working at a wind surfing resort in Mexico and as a peanut thrower at Safeco Field. My best selling line was, "Hottest nuts in the ballpark ladies!" My current job is managing two Starbucks stores in downtown. Someday, I want to be CEO. Brewing beer and wat ching football are my hobbies. I have season tickets for the Seahawks and Huskies. I used to have Sonics season tickets too. Now, Key Arena makes me sad. I love making my girl feel adored. I do it so well that I had to get a restraining order against my last girlfriend because she was stalking me. I'm too nice. I broke up with a girl because she cheated on me, then I helped her move two weeks later. Last weekend I found an injured turtle in Madison Park and took him to an animal hospital. I was born and raised on Vashon Island. Now, I live a block from the Pike Place Market. Seattle is in my soul. Other information from the application form that a customer brought me: Size large shirt. Pants size 34 x 34. Shoe size 10 1/2. Respect is more important than money or fame because I want to known and defined by my actions and character more than my job title.

Tell us about you. Hobbies/sports/awesome stuff!
I think my friends would call me multi-faceted - I try to be a well-rounded person! I've had people comment that when I decide I want to do something, I actually do it. I also believe in always growing as a person, and being a life-long learner.
I enjoy working out keeping fit, and playing sports. I'm committed to life-long physical fitness.
A long-time hobby of mine has been writing and performing music. As a musician, I play guitar, keyboard, and sing. One of my music projects achieved national college radio play and had a song featured by Geico on their promotional website.
I enjoy acting as well, and I love the challenge of bringing a character to life. I feel very privileged to be able to participate in the art of storytelling. I had a small role in the Korean film Late Autumn and a role in the music video for I Wonder, by Gowe. Later this year, I will appear in one of the lead roles for the film Rogue Saints.
I'm very passionate about giving back to the community and have founded the social-enterprise company Noble Suit Co. It is a line of tailored men's clothing. To me, the modern day suit is equivalent to a suit of armor long ago. In it, we engage the world, look our best, and fight to provide for our families. Keeping this in mind, with our line we've combined the dual meanings of nobility. A portion of our revenue also goes to providing clean drinking water for people in impoverished nations through the charity: water organization. I'm excited about the opportunity to build a lasting way for men to look their best and be their best!
Thanks for your consideration.
